Getting Rid of Afternoon Lethargy

Ever Feel That Afternoon Slump in Energy and Motivation?
Every afternoon between about 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, millions of people start to feel sluggish and sleepy. Concentration on the job becomes more difficult and the desire to just lie down and take a nap is overwhelming.
What is this? What happens at that time of day that almost always makes us so lethargic? More importantly, what can be done about it? Mid-afternoon sluggishness is known as the post-lunch dip and it’s a function of our biological clock.
We naturally feel sleepy at two times during each 24-hour period – 2:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The afternoon dip can be made worse by consuming lots of carbohydrates at lunchtime. This dip can make a person very lethargic for a period in the afternoon, and it usually clears up at about 3:00 PM, when the body comes out of its dip naturally.
If you’ve ever suffered from the afternoon slump in energy and motivation, read the following tips. They’ll help you feel better each day and you’ll be able to get more done!
Tip #1 – Browse the Internet By Stumbling Upon Interesting Sites
During your afternoon slump, it’s good to allow yourself a bit of a break until your energy reappears (and it will). If you’re able to, it helps to allow yourself to do some web surfing. This might seem lazy and unproductive, but if you’re visiting sites of interest, where you can actually learn some pretty neat stuff, it can turn out to be very productive.
You can surf the ‘net either on your own, just reading news pages or going to sites you already know and like, or you can surf with the assistance of some good “helper” sites that actually find interesting domains to check out for you (StumbleUpon is a good one). Often these sites gather their information from the best source, which is the viewing public, who either recommend or vote for interesting sites to be included, or are suggested for review by the site’s owner. Either way, you can find some good places to visit while you wait for your afternoon slump to disappear and your energy to return.
Tip #2 – Down an Energy Juice!
If you’re in the middle of an afternoon energy slump and you just don’t feel like doing anything except putting your head on your desk and taking a nap, it’s time to chug an energy juice drink! Often, the only thing your body needs to snap itself back into action is a kick-start from within.
RioVida is a nutritional drink that’s made from 100% pure juices. Full of antioxidants and nutrients, it wakes up your body and gives your immune system a boot as a bonus. It’s amazing how doing something as simple a consuming a really healthy juice can help.More than just a juice though, is that RioVida contains a mysterious new thing.A molecule isolated from the active hearts of both Bovine colostrum and Hen Egg Yolks. This makes it several steps ahead or above a mere energy drink.
With a composite of essential fatty acids, RioVida (translated – The River of Life) revives your energy reserves and gives you the boost that you need to restart your day and finish on a productive note and it’s far healthier than the dangerous version of soda-like energy drinks that are on store shelves today.
Healthy, tasty, energy replenishing, and good for your immune system - this is a juice drink that has everything you could ask for and leaves you genuinely refreshed. The next time you have a personal energy crisis, down an energy juice instead of coffee. You’ll be happy with the results!
Tip #3 – Write a Book!
Don’t waste your mid-afternoon energy slump by napping or sitting and staring into space - write that book that’s been waiting to come out of you! You’ve always thought you should, but you’ve never gotten around to it.
There’s not enough time, or maybe you don’t think you have the talent. But you do have the time (it’s right there during your energy slump), and you can learn to write with the best of them since writing is a skill you learn, not something you’re born with. If you’re wondering if you have the talent, or the means, or the marketing ability to write a book and actually sell it, you need to take a look at the tools that are out there for aspiring writers and get to work. If you take a bit of time to learn the “how to” of writing a book and the finer points of getting it published, you’ve got it made.
